(Unfortunately, the Yahoo article has since expired. If anyone has discovered great articles regarding the value of newspapers, please let us know and we’ll consider adding it. In the meantime, feel free to use the www.RareNewspapers.com website for comparables.)

Hello Elizabeth. They do have some (small) value, but the key is to find a buyer. We would not be interested as we already have many. You can always put the dates into our website’s search engine to see the prices we offer for these. If, upon searching by date (mm/dd/yyyy) nothing is found, it likely has no value. I have a copy of The Schenectady Weekly Union form July 2, 1868. There is a section that shows the Union Republican Nominations for President, Gen. Ulysus S. Grant. For Vice-President, Hon. Schuyler Colfax. And I also have one from Providence Daily Journal dated October 7, 1864 and it has a sections showing the National Union Nominations. For President it says Abraham Lincoln of Illinois and for Vice-President it says Andrew Johnson of Tennessee. Any idea where I can go to find out if it is worth anything?

Hello Greg: Without having it in hand there is no way to know for certain, but in nearly 40 years of collecting and selling, we’ve never had anyone ask for one – and our database of key events does not indicate it might have value.
Hello Casey: Please send details to Tim Hughes at timothy@rarenewspapers.com
