As we were searching through our issues from 1848 looking for early Gold Rush [1] content, we discovered an interesting item in a August 8, 1848 Boston Evening Transcript [2] with content related to Communism [3]. With contemporary material related to early Communism hard to come by, it is nice the B.E.T. decided to put this in print:

VERY nice find.
California was home to numerous Anarchists, Communists, and Marxists not long after this, I’d be curious to see any finds along those lines in California papers of the era.
